KLS Mail Backup

Critical information can be sent and received by email, which makes it important to create spare copies of your emails. You could use a specialized backup application, but mail clients store your emails in a maze of folders, so it can be difficult to set up an input path. KLS Mail Backup provides a better solution. It can locate your emails automatically and it can store them in a safe location, on your hard drive or on a FTP server. Besides that, the software is easier to use than other backup utilities.

Although it comes with a price tag, KLS Mail Backup is free for personal use. Downloading and installing the software is a simple procedure, which should not take more than one minute. You can use the software on Windows 2000 or any later version, up to Windows 8.

When launched for the first time, KLS Mail Backup will ask you what data you want to back up, but you can make your selections later, if you want to. The program can back up data from eM Client, IncrediMail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Outlook Express and other mail clients. Additionally, KLS Mail Backup can back up your bookmarks, cookies, history files, general settings and other elements from various web browsers, like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and others.

After selecting one or more components from the supported mail clients and web browsers, they will appear in a tree structure, on the software's main user interface. You may click various buttons, located on a toolbar, to count the targeted elements and calculate their total size, view your backup profile's properties and more. The Backup option can be found on the same toolbar. Besides a regular backup, you can also perform a full or incremental backup. Additionally, the software allows you to simulate the backup process, before you execute it.

It does not take long to back up the targeted data. You can choose a destination path, on the hard drive or on a FTP server, select a compression method and make other configurations, on a tabbed properties window. The backed up contents are stored in ZIP archives. When the backup process is complete, you can view the created archives on the main user interface, on a different tab. When restoring data, you can choose to restore everything or specific files. You can also decide to overwrite or skip files if they already exist.
